Project Objectives: The educational goal for the student will be to learn about jazz composition, both small group and large ensemble, by entering previously composed works of mine into musical notation software programs, such as Finale or Sibelius.  I would meet with the students once a week to discuss specific compositional techniques and orchestration utilized in the particular piece that they would be entering and would give them a list of questions to answer about the piece as they go.  By getting these pieces entered  into the computer they will then become more readily available to other students in the School of Music for study and performance.
