The overall goals of this application are to define the roles of circulating tissue factor in acute arterial thrombosis and normal hemostasis, and to elucidate how leukocyte expression of tissue factor contributes to atherosclerosis progression and plaque thrombogenicity.  To accomplish these objectives we will utilize a hematopoietic stem cell transplant strategy to restrict tissue factor expression in mice to the blood vessel wall.  These mice will be studied in a series of thrombosis and atherosclerosis experiments.

Student Tasks and Responsibilities: The student will assist a post-doctoral fellow in performing the stem cell transplants and in analyzing thrombus formation and atherosclerosis development in mice.
